I have 2 cockatiels, it was really hot in the hosue and so i didn’t cover them up thinking it’d be too warm and it would harm them, but in the middle of the night I heard our female scream, i heard it again and this time with a thump. I went out into the room where they were and turned the light on, she was laying on the cage floor partially under the food cup, well the first thing I noticed is that our male (Who is much lighter) had blood on his head, I removed him from the cage and checked him over and found that he wasn’t bleeding anywhere else, but then I took Lucy, our girl out and she was bleeding from underneath both of her wings, I held her and pressed a damp paper towel to her wounds but..
It kept bleeding for a while, eventually it stopped however, and I don’t believe she broke anything, she was moving her wing fine and only when you touched the cuts did she screech. I seperated both of them, in case Buddy our boy would pick at her wings, and so she’s in her own cage now.
I heard no squabbling before Lucy started screaming..it would just a random scream out of no where, we have nothing sharm in the cage..so I dont know what could have happened or what I should do?
Our vet is closed and the closest animal hospital is an hour away, but..the blood stopped and she was happily eating and drinking before I covered them and turned the lights out.
Does anyone know if I could do anything to help? My aunt says that the cat may have scared them since they were uncovered, but help?
